FAQs
What is the state-accredited school you work with?
We work with Alger Learning Center to customize a learning program that uses a variety of methods to identify and evaluate their learning skills, styles, and differences. We design a program with appropriate courses suggesting and helping locate stimulating resources.
In the Distance Learning Program, students learn independently with the assistance and support of their contact teacher, who will maintain regular contact by phone, email, skype, and smartphone apps.
How will my daughter earn school credits while she is enrolled in your program?
We work with the Alger Learning Center to provide state-approved accredited schooling that will easily transfer a semester’s worth of credits back to your daughter’s school when she returns home.
Before she enters our program, we gather the transcripts from her school and design a program that supplements what she would have been learning in her current school.
We often provide more elective credits than mainstream schooling systems. Often times, students leave the program with more credits than they would have earned back at their high school!
What does the Distance Learning Program curriculum look like?
By individualizing learning programs, to suit each student’s learning gifts, learning differences, or both, we enable them to develop the tools for a lifetime of independent learning, free of the constraints of the traditional regimented system.
Is there a specific date that my daughter needs to start this program?
As a state-approved private school, we can work with public schools and districts, transfer credits, and issue high school diplomas and official transcripts. We have no “school year,” students may enroll at anytime, year around, and complete their work at a pace determined by their learning contact.
How long can my child stay with you?
Our program typically runs between 1-3 months. We typically find that after 3 months they are thriving and ready to re-integrate back into life at home with their family. If you feel as though your daughter needs additional support, please reach out and we can work on more accommodations.
Is this a religion-based program?
We offer a holistic approach. This means that we cater to your daughter’s spiritual practices. If she has a habit of going to church or practicing other spiritual modalities, we will gladly support and encourage those practices.
What activities will my daughter be engaging in?
Nightly dinner, yoga, art (painting and epoxy work), pet therapy, walks, mindset work, emotion workshops, photography, hiking, reading, journaling and writing exercises, meditation, music therapy and sound healing, trips to the museum, Seattle visits, and more!
